Christmas

Unfortunately I couldn’t come up with anything more eloquent than these lyrics:

Someday at Christmas men won’t be boys

Playing with bombs like kids play with toys

One warm December our hearts will see

A world where men are free
Someday at Christmas there’ll be no wars

When we have learned what Christmas is for

When we have found what life’s really worth

There’ll be peace on earth
Someday all our dreams will come to be

Someday in a world where men are free

Maybe not in time for you and me

But someday at Christmastime
Someday at Christmas we’ll see a Man

No hungry children, no empty hand

One happy morning people will share

Our world where people care
Someday at Christmas there’ll be no tears

All men are equal and no men have fears

One shinning moment my heart ran away

From our world today
Someday all our dreams will come to be

Someday in a world where men are free

Maybe not in time for you and me

But someday at Christmastime
Someday at Christmas man will not fail

Hate will be gone love will prevail

Someday a new world that we can start

With hope in every heart
Maybe not in time for you and me

But someday at Christmastime

Someday at Christmastime

On To London (Or Otherwise Known As Day 3 & 4)!

Initially when we planned this vacation, the only countries we were going to visit were The Netherlands and France.  Once my daughter caught wind of this, she insisted that the UK be added somehow in any way possible.  After giving this some thought (and knowing how obsessed she is with all things British), we were able to figure out how to add a couple of days in London!

This detour consisted of a British Airways flight from Amsterdam, which was really cheap! We’re talking like only 50 euros per person/one way! The downside to this was that our first flight ever on British Airways SUCKED! First it was the 3 hour delay (I could have had breakfast in Amsterdam!) THEN they lost one of our bags.  Usually the lost bag thing wouldn’t have been a big deal.  However, we packed so conservatively that we only brought two bags for a two week trip.  There was important stuff in each of these bags!

Apparently, my bag wanted to stay in Amsterdam another day and would join me right before we left for France.

So, back to London!  We stayed at an amazing hotel, The Park Plaza Westminster Bridge London.  I highly recommend as it was close to everything (and it was soooo plush)! We had a mini-suite that overlooked the London Eye and right when you walked out of the hotel – There’s Big Ben!

Our 2nd Day In Amsterdam

I had totally planned to update my blog daily on our vacation, I have big goals!  But I failed, and failed miserably.  Between all the traveling, sightseeing and just enjoying the experience – I had no time to blog!

So I’ll do a brief summary of each day now!

Day 2 in Amsterdam was a lot of fun, we started out at the Hard Rock Cafe, because my kid wanted a shirt from there and a burger. Then it was on to the Heineken Experience.  I will say that I wasn’t big on seeing how Beer is made (been there, done that) but this was an actual experience, even children will enjoy it!
